Fundraising:
In its 24st year, 2007-2008, the Foundation donated over $54,000 in charitable gifts to worthy programs and organizations, including the Community Justice Program, the San Antonio Bar Association's award-winning pro bono program. In addition to a significant giving program, the Foundation also transferred $75,000 to the endowment fund for future giving. through annual contributions to the endowment fund since 2000, and through prudent investment strategies managed by Frost Bank, the endowment fund is now over $500,000. This significant benchmark takes the Foundation more than half way toward its goal of building the endowment for future giving to a minimum of one million dollars by 2011, while maintaining a high level of support for the community at the same time.
 
 

2008 San Antonio Bar Foundation & Bar Association Installation Gala to be held at the Pearl Stable

The 2008 Installation Gala will be here before we know it! September 6 come enjoy dinner and music at the historic Pearl Stables, located on the north side of downtown.

Most San Antonians think Pearl Brewery is named appropriately, as it is a true pearl of San Antonio. Designed by San Antonio architect Otto Kramer, The Pearl Brewery was built in 1894. Like the Brew House, the Stable reflects a Victorian love of grandeur and ornament. It was a barn, but its graceful elliptical shape and intricate brickwork show that it was also the Brewery’s symbol of affluence and success. Now restored back to its original splendor by recreating the dramatic entry pediment missing from the building since the 1940s, reopening the windows that originally circled the building, exposing the century-old roof structure and rebuilding the pyramid-shaped cupola, the stable is now a uniquely elegant site for special events.
